MAGGIE WRIGHT, Chairman and District Councillor for the Normanton Ward which includes Thurlaston, Huncote and Leicester Forest West. Maggie was born in Thurlaston and attended the village primary school. Married to Neil for 27 years they have two grown up sons. Maggie has been chairman for the last 7 years and believes village organisations are the life blood of the community and need continual support and encouragement. Maggie has spent the last 9 years working for Age Concern Leicestershire and Rutland as an Information and Advice Worker. In her spare time Maggie enjoys participating in the Thurlaston Players amateur dramatics group and flower arranging. She enjoys regularly attending her local Chapel and supporting their activities.

ESTHER HARRISON joined Thurlaston Parish Council in May 2004. She became Vice Chairman of the Parish Council on 12th May 2011. Esther is a qualified barrister and has lived in the village almost all of her life. Esther is a member of Thurlaston Chapel. She is involved in various youth activities in the parish and helps to run the annual camp for young people.

NEIL WRIGHT, married to Maggie has lived in the village for 18 years and has served on the Parish Council since May 2007. Neil is a Printing Ink Consultant with extensive business experience. Neil enjoys working his two Labrador dogs and all aspects of country pursuits. Neil is the Parish Council representative on the Village Hall Management Committee.

KATRINA JUDSON became a member of Thurlaston Parish Council in January 2006. She has lived in the village since 2003 and was married at Thurlaston Chapel. Katrina takes a keen interest in the issues affecting the village and enjoys walks with the Thurlaston Ramblers. Prior to becoming a Councillor, she was actively involved with Thurlaston Quarry Action Group.

TREVOR ENGLAND – Trevor has lived in Thurlaston since 1992 and joined the Parish Council in January 2010. Trevor is a member of the Thurlaston Village Hall Management Committee and also helps with Thurlaston Carnival. STEVE WARDEN – Steve moved to the village towards the end of 2009 and fell in love with it and the people. As a result he decided to join the parish council to take an interest in the

DAWN KIDD,Clerk. Dawn took up the post of Clerk in May 2010. She moved to Leicestershire from Essex two years ago as a result of relocation relating to her husbands work. Dawn is a qualified Solicitor currently on sabbatical in order to care for her two young daughters. Dawn enjoys the community spirit in Leicestershire and enjoys being involved in the local community. Dawn assists in the running of a Mums and Tots Group, “Creative Childrens Group” where she lives in Stoney Stanton.
