Harvest Open Event 2011

ThurlastonParish Council is promoting a Harvest Celebrations event on Saturday 8 October, to coincide with the All Saints Church Thurlaston Flower Festival weekend from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 October 2011.

On Saturday 8 October, the Village Hall will be open to display the Village Records. It is anticipated the Hall will be available between 10am and 4pm. There is also an opportunity for all local groups to have a promotional stall, to raise their profile and provide an opportunity for fundraising.

The Village records will also be on display in the hall on Saturday.

Members of the Church will provide refreshments for sale in the Village Hall on Saturday, as part of their fundraising.

A combined Harvest Service with the Chapel and Church will be held on the Sunday morning followed by a free lunch in the Village Hall.

Lisa Brotherhood, landlady of the Elephant and Castle, is organising a Village Scarecrow Competition over the weekend.

The Parish Council are pleased to be supporting this event for the benefit of the local community and local community groups and hope that there will be support for this fund raising opportunity.
